LightReader does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. All data stays on your device.
What Data We Store
LightReader stores a single user preference locally on your device using Chrome's storage API:
- Always Convert setting — a boolean value indicating whether automatic dark-to-light conversion is enabled.
This data never leaves your browser and is not transmitted to any server.
What Data We Do Not Collect
- No personal information
- No browsing history
- No analytics or tracking
- No cookies
- No data shared with third parties
Permissions Used
- Scripting — to inject a CSS stylesheet that converts dark pages to light, and to detect dark backgrounds.
- Storage — to save your "Always Convert" preference locally.
- Host permissions (all URLs) — to apply the color conversion on any website you visit.
